丸編み機の特性上履き口からつま先まで空洞となり、履き口の空洞部を専用のロッソミシンで縫い合わせます。
一見ミシンで縫うだけの簡単な作業に思えますが、実は靴下の縫製部分の咬み合わせ方で縫い目の出来上がりが大きく変わる重要な部分です。
一つ一つをスーっとミシンの流れに乗って、ゴロつき感の出ないようにうまく縫い合わせるのが熟年の職人技です。
ここまできてようやく、見慣れた靴下の形が完成します。

At this point, the familiar sock shape is finally completed.
